Search for young environmentalists for international program of ecological education

The Bayer Group, in partnership with UNEP, has launched the application process for the 4th Edition of "Bayer Young Environmental Envoy Program".

What is BYEE
BYEE is a Bayer Program focused on youth and environment, that will select four Brazilian students who have conducted Studies or Projects on the environment and sustainable development, to represent Brazil at the International Meeting of Young Environmental Envoys, to be held in November 2007 in Germany – all expenses paid*.

How to participate
If you want to participate in "Bayer Young Environmental Envoy Program” you must be a regular student and the author of a Study or Project related to the environment that is of social interest, and represents an objective contribution in the pursuit of sustainable development in any part of the country, provided all the requirements stated in the Participation Rules are met. The Studies and Projects submitted are not required to be unprecedented; they may have participated in previous editions of this Program and in other contests with similar purposes, independently of the results obtained. Participants must be between 18 and 25 years of age by August 18, 2007, and be a regular student of any High School or College (undergraduate, graduate or specialization) that is certified by the Ministry of Education and Culture, and should also be fluent in English.

Selected studies or projects
The authors of the 04 (four) best Studies or Projects will be invited to represent Brazil at the International Meeting of Young Environmental Envoys, to be held in Germany during the first half of November 2007, with all expenses paid* by Bayer S.A.. The authors of the selected Studies or Projects will have to prove their proficiency in English and must provide all the necessary travel documentation described in the Participation Rules. Any candidate who fails to meet all the requirements specified in the Participation Rules will be replaced by another author of a Study or Project selected by the Judging Committee.

Schedule
Applications for "Bayer Young Environmental Envoy Program” must be submitted between April 10th and September 3rd, 2007. The authors of the selected Studies or Projects will be called for an interview with the Organizers of the Program, and must provide all the necessary travel documentation by the first week of October. The winning candidates will be announced during a special event that will be held on October 22nd, 2007, in the city of Belford Roxo - RJ, where the authors of the selected Studies or Projects will make a Power Point presentation of their work. The trip to Germany will take place during the first half of November 2007.

Applications
If you want to participate, please read the
Participation Rules (in Portuguese) carefully and complete the Application Form. Use the completed Application Form as the cover page of one of the hard copies of your Report and then make a Xerox copy of the entire Report. Send the two hard copies of the Report of your Study or Project (including Appendixes) to "Bayer S.A., Programa Bayer Jovens Embaixadores Ambientais, Rua Domingos Jorge, 1100 ­ 10º andar – bairro Socorro - CEP 04779-900 - São Paulo - SP".

Partnership with UNEP

In 2003, Bayer and UNEP (in Brazil, PNUMA) signed a partnership for cooperation on youth and the environment. With this, Bayer reinforced its commitment to climate issues and concern for the youth and sustainability.
