SC 38 - ALKALINE Cu-Au PORPHYRIES AND Fe-OXIDE Cu-Au DEPOSITS:DISTINCT DEPOSIT TYPES, A CONTINUUM OR GENETIC LINKAGE?

Fe-Oxide Cu-Au deposits and alkaline porphyry systems can share a number of mineralogical, geochemical and alteration-related characteristics. A number of deposits appear to share attributes of both types. This two day short course will explore the characteristics, similarities, differences and possible linkages between both types. We will also have an open session with space available to all who wish to contribute a poster or rock specimens for discussion. The course is targeted toward mineral exploration, government and academic geologists. This is an excellent chance to meet and exchange data and views with some of the leading researchers in the field!
